If a guitarist does not press the strings perpendicularly against the fretboard, then we start to hear string when strumming.
Leave Space Between The Bottom of the Palm and the Neck
Bend the wrist slightly to be able to reach the upper strings. Remember to leave a small gap between the bottom of the neck’s 1st string and the palm of the hand.
